From November 2-6, 2015, The 5th China International Co-Production Film Screenings were jointly held by the Motion Picture Association (MPAA) and Chinas Film Bureau of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television (SAPPRFT) to celebrate the amazing results from Sino-Foreign film co-productions in the past year. This event was supported by companies like THX, Warner Bros. Entertainment, AMC Cinemas…etc.
The event features plenty of film screenings, filmmaker interviews, and panels to increase attentions about these incredible international collaborations. The event kicked off with a Chinese hit film Wolf Totem directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, and also displayed other films like Chinese 2016 best-selling film Monster Hunt.
The closing ceremony was held jointly by THX and MPAA in Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Around 200 executives from well-known Chinese and American production companies and press attended the closing reception and watched the screening of the brand new 007: Spectre movie in THX Certified Cinemas with press and guests.
Our client THX was founded in 1983 by famous director George Lucas. It provides high-level audio and visual experiences for movie audiences. In 2015, they shift their focus to the Chinese market. However, Chinese audience had little knowledge about THX under the predominant IMAX and Dolby system.
With this opportunity, Novaland invited numbers of Chinese mainstream press and several big names in the industry over to try out the unique movie experience provided by the THX Certified Cinema. we made sure the press gave THX great exposures in China through their firsthand experience so that helped them build THX Certified Cinemas in China.
For this event, Novaland also helped arranged journalists from mainstream Chinese press outlets like CCTV, People’s Daily, Sohu…etc. to do on-site reports about the closing ceremony, followed by feature articles. These articles were later forwarded by over 50 news agencies including Tencent and Netease. The exposure and recognition of THX and THX Certified Cinemas as a brand was increased to a great extent. The total view count of the news articles and live videos is over 80 million, the total coverage valued over ¥37,850,000 CNY(around $5.7 million USD).
