Detective Chinatown 2 Marketing Campaign

September 2017, Wanda Group brought Detective Chinatown 2 by director Chen Sicheng to New York City. The movie shot a dancing scene in the Times Square and incorporated many elements from the city into the film. We collaborated with Wanda Group to do the first round of international marketing campaign for Detective Chinatown 2.

Although the first film in 2015 has generated great results from both critic’s comments and the box office, Detective Chinatown 2 was not sure of its U.S. distributor at that time and they don’t have any American exhibitor/theaters’ information.

Under this circumstance, we seized the specialty that Detective Chinatown 2 was the first Chinese film completely produced by the Union and pitched it to many mainstream media outlets. As a result, we locked down influential media The Wrap and Deadline and had them wrote in-depth coverages to market the film.
